Alternative Treatment of Hepatitis C

A recent research shows that Combination Herbal Therapy – “HCV Compound-1 & HCV Compound-2” is very effective in Hepatitis C without any side effects. "
This Herbal Therapy is a ray of hope for those patients who are not able to afford, tolerate or are not eligible for Peg interferon and Ribavirin therapy"

Hepatitis C is the most common blood-borne infection and can lead to serious complications including Cirrhosis of liver and Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC). We studied 10 cases of Chronic Hepatitis C, who were found positive for Hepatitis C Virus with raised liver enzymes (ALT, AST) and increased Viral load. All 10 patients of Hepatitis C were treated with “Combination Herbal Therapy - HCV Compound - 1 & HCV Compound - 2”. Our analysis shows that majority cases of Chronic Hepatitis C showed marked improvement in symptoms (subjective questioning), the reduction in levels of Viral Load and level of serum glycolytic enzymes (ALT & AST) within eight weeks to six months of “Combination Herbal Therapy - HCV Compound - 1 & HCV Compound - 2”.

Selection of patients

Ten patients of Chronic Hepatitis C were selected in OPD of Vaidya Kirpa Ram Health Foundation, Opp. Shivpuri Temple. Khanna (PB), India. Patients having history of severe liver disease (e.g. Ascites, Encephalopathy, Variceal hemorrhage) or patients having platelets < 75,000/mL, serum albumin < 3.0 g/dL were excluded from the present study.
All the 10 patients, who were found positive for Hepatitis C Virus with raised liver enzymes (ALT, AST) and increased Viral load. had their investigation reports with them. Xerox copies of their investigation reports were kept for the record.

Dosage

Both capsules of  “Combination Herbal Therapy - HCV Compound - 1 & HCV Compound - 2” (Capsule HCV Compound - 1  & Capsule HCV Compound - 2) were given in dosage of 1 TDS (Three times a day) each, preferably with water, after meals for eight weeks. Continuous use was recommended for six months.

Discussion

The results of our treatment were assessed on the basis on symptomatic relief, levels of serum glycolytic enzymes (AST, ALT) and HCV Viral load only. After eight weeks of “Combination Herbal Therapy - HCV Compound - 1 & HCV Compound - 2”, there was a significant decline in level of serum glycolytic enzymes in almost all cases. “Combination Herbal Therapy - HCV Compound - 1 & HCV Compound - 2” brought about a significant decline in viral load in majority cases of Chronic Hepatitis C. There was a marked improvement in symptoms (Fatigue, loss of appetite, enlarged & painful liver, body ache, nausea and vomiting) in all the patients

HCV RNA Quantitative

Out of 10 patients only 9 patients had report of HCV RNA Quantitative (Viral Load) test. After eight weeks of “Combination Herbal Therapy - HCV Compound - 1 & HCV Compound - 2”  patients were subjected to AST/ALT and HCV RNA Quantitative (Viral Load) tests.

Result

The results revealed that in majority cases of Chronic Hepatitis C there was a marked improvement in symptoms (Fatigue, loss of appetite, enlarged & painful liver, body ache, nausea and vomiting) with “Combination Herbal Therapy - HCV Compound - 1 & HCV Compound - 2”. In majority patients, the reduction in levels of liver enzymes (ALT & AST) was noticed within eight weeks of herbal therapy. No significant side effects (like headache, dizziness, digestive disturbances, fever, alopecia, lethargy or depression etc. as found in case of Ribavirin & Interferon Therapy) were observed during treatment. These results indicate that the formula and ratio of herbs used in “Combination Herbal Therapy - HCV Compound - 1 & HCV Compound - 2” are most effective against Chronic Hepatitis C. There is a strong need of exploration of Hepatoprotective role of the “Combination Herbal Therapy - HCV Compound - 1 & HCV Compound - 2” in other liver disorders.
